About
Kauai and Kiahuna
Kauai is
Hawaii at its tropic best, a magical island whose landscape
is the heart of dreams. It is a place of majestic contrasts
and geologic extremes; towering seacliffs and misting waterfalls,
rocky spires crowning sawtooth mountains, all clothed in rainforest
green. Add idyllic beaches strung like lei along a reef-sheltered
coast, and you've painted a picture of the Garden Island.
What a picture! Kauai continually says "paradise."
It's easy to see the island as the setting for "King
Kong", Jurassic Park" and "Blue Hawaii."
Kauai is a relatively undeveloped
island compared to the other major islands of the Hawaiian
group. There are several ways to see the many natural wonders
of this, the Garden Isle of Hawaii. Most are accessible by
car, but some, such as the stunning Na Pali coast on the west
side, can be experienced only by hiking, by boat or by helicopter.
Kauai has been voted the second
best island in the world by the readers of Travel + Leisure
Magazine. And Kiahuna Plantation is one of the many enchanting
reasons why this island is a favorite. Kiahuna Plantation
occupies a lovely beachfront setting in Poipu on the sunny
side of Kauai. Our quaint, low rise condominiums are reminiscent
of Hawaii's 19th century plantation past and feature perfectly
manicured lawns bordered by a pristine stretch of sand. Nestled
in the Poipu Beach Resort, the plantation consists of 35 acres
of landscaped, perfectly manicured lawns and gardens filled
with tropical flowers, bordered by a stretch of beach of pristine
white sand with rolling surf.
"....Kiahuna is a name of recent
origin that is derived from the ancient Hawaiian place name
Kihahouna, a heiau that once presided in the ahupua'a and
moku of Koloa on the left side of Haleo-I'a (the beach in
front of Kiahuna). We can literally translate the name "Kiajuna"
to mean, "The key to a hidden place or secret.""
Kiahuna Plantation is the only condominium
resort at Poipu located on the beach. Nothing is more special
than the panoramic ocean/garden view from our lanais. Come
discover the paradise which is Kiahuna Plantation at Poipu
Beach.
